It will soon be a new year for the chinese. A brand new hope? maybe.

But today's the reunion of all my relatives. Or perhaps some because the army has deprive my cousin Aaron from being off duty. And cousin tze xian was stuck at work.

But anyhows, I made the traditional khek dish of 'ooh-le-ban', better known as the abacus dish. My first attempt and it's a super good one to go. My granny was proud of me. But of cause I did it with help from mommy.

Woke up bright and early to make my favourite speciality fried egg on a fried bread for breakfast! Then hurried down to Ah ma's house for steamboat. I learnt something new today, lao yu sheng must be finished! haha. I never like eating that, so I always pick on the pamelo, salmon and the crackers. But it's fun fun messing up and you don't need an excuse to play with food.

After that, went to Granny's house for steamboat. Yes, again. Please don't drag me to any more steamboat.
Oh, We had ching ting and walnut cake for desert! Wheee! My uncle took out the cake and placed it on the table, he started singing a song which he sorta made it up and everyone was like wondering what he was doing so everyone gathered around him, he didn't want to cut the cake, and he felt that someone important to cut the cake. He started going around asking who's birthday is nearing so that there was more meaning in cutting the cake. so hilarious right? hahahahaha.

oh well, it apparently was a great day! now i'm tired.

I think I figured something.

How a person reacts to a certain situation is based on a few factors.

- whether the person is new to the situation or whether the situation has happened before

- whether the person has seen how other people react to it before

- the personality of the person

- the level of tireness (mentally/physically)

- the level of interest shown towards the situation/person

- the people with/without the person

- the mood of the person

Usually, when a person woke up with a smile, had a good day, not rushing from place to place, giving time to reflect their problems and situations, in a good mood.. everything is go well.

However, if a person were to be tired and tried to make a sacrifice and has been rushing here and there, with their minds full of deadlines, any word of any tone from anyone close to heart will be snapped back right at the face. So the best way.. is to keep silence.

The humble banana has more uses than you would think.

Emergency Shoe Shiner
Rub your leather shoes with the soft inside of a banana skin. Then clean and buff the surface with a tissue or napskin. Shines lovely.

Fertilizer

Can I just say that I'm extremely joyful and happy?

I am plesantly surprised by my exam results this semester. God is truly great, all the time.
My class would have understood the uncertainty of the results as the 'professional' who set the paper was bias.

And from the look of the results after adding up all the components for consumer behaviour. It was a tough battle to aim for a distinction. But the ugliness of a 'CR' motivated me. I had like 3.5/10marks for lecture participation, 13.2/20 for mid term test and etc. Adding everything up was like 42/60. To get 70% was tough tough.. but I managed to. And I know it is not of myself that I did it cuz I couldn't have.

As for the other paper, it was a distinction too. YAY! =) Thank you for everyone who offered prayers for me. I just wanna say that nothing is impossible for him who believes.

Indeed, I havent done enough to study, but I am thankful that I have such a wonderful God.

splitchick has been converted into an admin slave.

wheeeeeee! I was a bit worried due to the fact that I have been snacking ever since I came back from states. Now, that i'm back at work, I won't be able to snack that often, thus, the worry about frequent hunger pangs.

Today is a good day. I prayed that it won't rain in the morning so that I'll be up and cheerful and not so nua to go to work. And it wasn't raining. Yay!

Then, I missed the train but I wasn't late. haha. in fact I was 15 mins early. And I met Kelvin liao, he finally had a haircut that suits him. No more boiboi look.

The whole day, I didn't feel hungry at all even tho I didn't have breakfast. At lunch, I had the famous duck rice with Jane. It is so famous that not only was the queue long, they even ran out of plates. Well, to me it could have been better if they gave more sauce. Yepp, the only thing really bad about today was the blisters on my heels. Super painful! kuku substance shoes.

After work, I managed to get home to change to slippers. Phew! Headed to Phin's steakhouse for dinner with pek, chuili, ina, jolyn and peilee. I had yummy sirloin steak with clam chowder soup and baked potatos! =)
And I bought a pair of black base, white stripe Havaianas for $4.20. hahaha. *pats back*

Oh, isetan is having 10% all havaianas flip flops. but limited sizes and designs left.

It was this day when Chui li got knight and appreciated for the 7 years of cellgrp leading. This post is specially for evelyn, we missed you during smash! At first, while during the planning stage, we were afraid if everyone wasn't so enthu about the costumes party. But phew! everyone enjoyed themselves and it was just so great!
Hopefully, every year, we will have such a great time with fancy costumes and I will definately bring my camera along!

My using the school account for internet connection and it only allows each student a certain number of bandwidth. So which means that if I exceed, I would have to pay for bandwidth. that's bad.

It was a joyful day.

Looks like my resolution for 2006 is working. I happily travelled to the National Eye Centre but got lost along the way. After alighting at Outram Station, I couldn't find the shuttle service. After I found it and queue (long)and went up the cute little bus. As soon as it was my stop, I got down and knocked my head really loudly against the ceiling of the little door. So short is good. It really hurt but I laughed at myself for being that tall.

It was funny how I thought that a senior consultant would be someone old, or at least with white hair. But he wasn't. He was young and dashing, bespectacled and patient to hear my perth story. haha. And yes, my lenses are not in my eyes but he concluded that i'm allegic to monthly lenses. So i'm left with daily or weekly or bi-weekly disposible lenses. Charlene suggested, how about yearly ones. word. I'm extremely relief, it is finally a load of my chest.

After that, I headed to ding's house, it was raining. Sweet Zheng came all the way to fetch me with umbrellas. Then we chatted a bit, I got to know him a little bit better, at least there wan't any awkard silences. haha. He taught me a new way to go to his place. goody! in fact, it's a faster way.

Upon arriving, greeted by ting at the doorway and she asked if she could call me 'something which I don't recall' haha. Then I saw xiang, Julia, Brandon doing the decors. Joy, ting & I helped too. It was a balloony sight. Now, I know how to make the balloons stay where I want it. Julia is the pro! Oh.. it's the suprise birthday party for dengzhi. Aunty Ivy was in the kitchen with her chicky!

Soon after, elaine arrive and we did more decors and more planning and ideas of how to suprise you, ding. I know your reading this.. I'll try to put in details. haha. There was the room where everyone hide in your room.

Then brandon thought of the everyone stand along the road side of your place to confuse you, and ignore you if you approach them. Then I thought of hiding in your bathroom. haha.

Then there was the idea of hiding in zheng's room, zheng will ask you to challenge him in pull ups. Then boo. Then there was another one hiding in zheng's room, while you do ur usual of stoning in your room before u get ready for dinner. But xiang said you take too long in your room. So aunty ivy decided to hide your towel. haha.

The food smelt really good, and in fact if you doing your daily routine will ask what's cooking and parade to the kitchen. So zheng sprayed baygon and dunno what to hide the yummy smell. And before you could even step into your house, we decided to shocked you.

It was exciting just waiting for your arrival. Uncle paul and es kept updating us. from the king kong part, to the BK part to the jam at expressway to the bayshore to the 'his coming'. The video of everyone awaiting is in your camera. Then, aunty pru was to give the signal for everyone to rush out of your house while you drive the car in. hahaha. Your shocked face, I know you didn't know how to react. Cuz that was how I felt at the suprise party at Mac.

The food was great. The decor was great. The company was great. The games was good. We played charades and how much do you know about dengzhi. haha. I'm the winner la. haha. our group had joy, loo, mich, esta, charlene, kristine, serena and ting. I found out more about you and the funny stuff you did when you were younger. I realize how close you are to your family (extended) when they gave you a big kiss and hug and you didn't feel shy about it.

Somehow I wished the same. But its different and i'm not complaining. And i'm not trading my family for anyone else. I shall try hug my popo soon. haha.

busy busy. but i kinda love it except the sleeping part. the new year is a new begining which lies many secrets that I have yet to dig. Somehow the arrival of the new year seems a little abrupt. bitter sweet feelings has somewhat form beneath the physical realm.

This was my blessed 2005, not forgetting to thank the Lord for it. My jehovah Jireh.

firstly, it's happy that it's the new year like it has always been.
cuz it is a new year to start all over again, to be given a new chance to do everything I ever wanted to do in 2005. but it also means it's resolution time, and all that goal setting for ministries, whether to continue with shalom? seriously, I have no idea.

secondly, it's exciting that chinese new year is coming soon, which also means it's time to start saving up for my rainy days in perth.

Thinking of perth, scares me.. I'm gonna be alone.. everyone else I know like Joe, wanting, cherlyn, lindsey will be there in Aug. If only mel was accepted into UWA. rah. mudroch is at a distance.

i'm worried tho'. as the date is nearing, it seems like I have alot of things that I haven't done. I think I have alot to pack, I need to get my booklist which isn't coming, my new UWA card which hasn't arrived, and what if I can't get my units that I wanted cuz I have to be in presence in perth to re-enrol my units. ugh.

then, there's the racism thingy happening in perth.. it doesn't help the worrying.

recently, my left eye has been hurting quite a bit, always getting red. The thought of maybe the lenses are still inside haunts me. I slept for 18 hours to get the redness out.. but it hasn't. how?

then.. my gum starts to get red too.

then zhi is going to army this fri..

then yk goes back to work..

then i suddenly have so many responsibilities just because i'm on break.

oh man!

thirdly, birkie's are arriving! which is Yay! haha. =)

i've written down my resolutions and I'm quite happy with it! =)
